Minister of state for education says no date has been fixed for re_opening of schools

The minister of state for education, Mr emeka Nwajuiba on Monday 8 2020 said that no date has been fixed yet for the reopening of schools the country

The minister said that the rumors going round accross the country that schools will resume on the 21st of June 2020 is fake and that he had not said anything like that. The news according to him was spread globally especially in Abuja the Federal capital territory

He added that any news about the re_opening of schools will be disclosed by the PTF ,adding that it was not possible to release a date without the input of the PTF

He added that the government has come into conclusion about the re_opening of schools that schools will not be reopened now so as to maintain healthy safe living and that the government are planning more safe measure in which could help reduces the spread of Corona virus before they could think about the reopening of schools he added that he doesn’t want to add more to the cases of covid 19 at hand that’s why they had not disclosed the reopening to of schools. He only said what they are planning is to make sure they create a platform for those writing junior waec and seinor waec so as not to skip this year of study. As he continues his address he said that the waec date will be disclosed very soon so as to keep those students in their position

He said that as soon as the state inter lockdown is ease they will plan on the date of those exam

He urged student to read always so as to keep on expecting their exams and that they should be updated so as not to Carry fake news
